ROCIO

Rocio

Greetings, I'm Rocio

All my life I’ve been surrounded rocks and creativity. My father was an importer and my mother makes jewelry. Together, they've given me three languages, many places to call home and the middle name Sapphire - Zafiro in Spanish.

I inherited my father’s manufacturer in Bali, where the pieces are cast and my stones are cut in India by my father’s former stone supplier.  The collections are produced in very small quantities, support generations of artisans and are usually one of a kind since all the stones are hand cut.  My mother and I share a store - Zafiro in the plaza of Sayulita, Mexico where our work sits side by side. You can also find my work at the Summer markets and a few select stores in Seattle and Bainbridge Island.

I create on the counter in my little Mexican casita most of the year, but if it’s summer - I’ll be at my kitchen table in Seattle or on the porch of my boyfriend’s cabin on Bainbridge.  I travel easily.  I daydream.  These objects ground me.  I hope that energy finds its way to you.
